Double Whammy.

Part Uno.

Currently in the middle of orchestrating a new project that I'm super excited about...
And we all know that excitement and passion often lead to sweat...
And sweat turns into fun little stain pit marks...
Yeah, not a fan either!

Best bet on days like this is to wear solid dark colors to hide any evidence of hard work.

And so voila!

Please vote your favorite Marie pose.

Part Deux.

At the JumpStart Business Forum in San Francisco yesterday I wanted to make sure that I:
1) stood out from the pack
2) was sorta more bussinesy (is that a word?!) than normal
3) seemed approachable
4) was still super stylin, yo!

This was my winning combination:

Off With Her Head!

I apologize for being unable to post my outfit from Sunday on Sunday.
Yesterday I fell asleep at 9:30pm. Yes, it's true, I'm a grandma. Dentures come out at 10!

Anyhoo, I wasn't feeling very Marie yesterday. You know when you have those days when you feel just kind of blah and think to yourself Is that what I really look like? Tried brightening up my tiredness with hot pinkness (which I normally feel fantabulous in!) but sadly, it didn't do the trick. :( Mostly my face was lookin rough, so thank goodness the queen of hearts said, Off With Her Head!

Three Piece Angle.

I didn't get the best of sleep last night and I promised my baby girl, Daisy, that I'd take her to Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley today. Ugh. I felt like poopy head McGee and decided to take the lazy girls route by wearing jeans. And I do not wear jeans often! Nothing wrong with denim - it's just that it's so overdone and there are so many many many many other options out there - why just stick to the basics?  I do love me some jean wearin time once in a while and today I unabashedly pull out the I'm a busy mom, wife, entrepreneur, and lover of life. So there. Ha!

Here's today's choice from a three piece angle:

Manual Labor.

So we're setting up for our Lil Palooza annual live music fest in our backyard. There'll be about five bands playing with some special guests - maybe I'll even belt out a tune if I've had enough spritzers in me  ;) We're also super stoked about having our very own food truck, Naked Chorizo, (thank you to my good friend Zenia for hooking it up!) at the party this year! Woo hoo! Stay tuned for pictures later this weekend!

Anyhoo, whenever I know I'm going to literally be working my arse off (manual labor - can you believe?!), I tend to wear all black so I don't show the world the real sweat monster that lies beneath the red lips.

What do you lovelies wear when you know you're gonna be sweatin it all day?

Oh. My. Gawd. Becky. I look like a total prostitute.

So my local bestie, Brigid Hughes, and I went to Rue Mag's, one year anniversary party at
HD Buttercup in San Francisco's SoMa.
There was champagne (yes!), bumpin music (nds, nds, nds, nds), live typewritten poetry, food trucks (hell yeah!), and of course, stylin ladies and dudes in every direction.
Twas a good ole time for some people watching, food grubbin, bubbly drinkin, friend bondin fun.
Here are a few snippets from this eve's festivities:

iShoot with iPhone.

*This outfit is from last night's show.*

Last night we checked out The Minks, an all girl Kinks tribute band at Berkeley's Starry Plough
First of all these girls are crazy balls talented and have such a great vibe.
Secondly, Holy Gorgeousness, Batman!
Yeah, they were smokin' hot.
It's true, my husband was drooling, but then again so was I. ;)

We danced, we sang, we drooled.
Twas a good night.
Twas a good night indeed.

Here are a few glimpses into the giggin attire:

Mod Mood.

With all the hype about red and nude lips this fall, I wanted to try something a lil' different. A look that's still stylin but not exactly right this second. I was inspired by watching Out of Sight for the first time last night (Dayum! Do Clooney and JLo have some mad crazy chemistry in the movie or what? But really, who wouldn't  have chemistry with such a handsome man). Jennifer Lopez had some super duper frosted lips with brown liner - I can't believe that was all the rage back then! - and so I took to the frosted part, left out the brown liner and added the Mod Squad Glam matching frosted liner along with rounding it all up with black round the rims. To match the Mod Mood, I broke out the black polk-a-dot top with the white lace super micro mini and finished it with the ankle boots. Ta da!

I think I'll be Mod Mooding it up more this fall - stay tuned... :)
