Bold Mother Earth.

Today I felt connected with the earth in a most empowering way.

I went through a very difficult personal situation last weekend and wept for days, felt like there was no tomorrow, and was utterly completely devastated. The world was muffled in both the visual and audio sense.  It was hard to see any light at the end of the long dark tunnel...

Until today.

Don't know what it is about this particular day, but all of a sudden things started getting better. A true smile found its way to my face. I felt the need to pay my respects to mother earth while grasping the bold happiness that I was finally able to feel again.
And so I let my outfit speak my truth on this fine day...

PS - The colors are totally muted on these pictures for some reason but appear bright and bold when viewed through iPhoto.  Anyone got a clue as to why?

My dance tribute to the gloriousness that is this day! :)

Still Summer Over Here Homies!

Luckily, in the Bay Area, we get an extended summer through October (aka Indian Summer).
Obviously  this fantabulous since I am an island girl deep down inside.
I sliped a nude slip underneath my black cover up dress and add a red hot macramed belt with shells and
ta daaaa! I get that summer lovin feelin.
Yeah, it's a little short, but you know what? I'm gonna be complaining about not being able to wear shorts, skirts and dresses soon enough - so for now, I be flauntin my stems yo.
Bonus points to this dress for lookin asymmetrical - totally on trend without even tryin!

PS - I was at Nordie's today on the look out for some cute fall boots and man - I realized, I can totally sport this dress come the cold with some hot knee highs. Score!

Back To School.

I've been out of school for a few years now but I think I've been missing that feeling a tiddly bitty-o this fall. The smell of freshman blood, the crispness of untouched notebooks, the computer-strained eyes, the need to purchase new clothes...
Ah yes, those were the days!

To commemorate this feeling, I found myself pulling out a short pleated skirt, a thin long sleeve sweater and of course a nice little blazer to complete the Catholic School Girl look. I pranced around in this attire with my daughter and husband at Pier 39 in San Francisco, as all the kiddies were back hitting the books.
Ha!
I guess it DOES pay to be an adult sometimes.

Lil Bit O'Daily Fabulousness.

There are times when I just want to roll out of bed and go out in my PJ's (mind you they're either panties and a tank, long jammies and hubby's shirt or my berfday suit - Oh yeah!).
For those type of days, I know you fine lookin' gals end up putting on the typical uniform of your go-to same old same old jeans and the first cute top you can find.

Well, here's a little guide to doing anything BUT that...

 ...lame lazy excuse...
.... that I love from time to time...
...Shhhhh don't tell on me.

Enough with the three periods!
Ha! I said periods.
Ugh, that's probably what sparked this whole thing anyhoo.
Am I talking to myself...again?

Dammnit,the three periods are back.

Okay, FOCUS.
Back to the subject of being fabulous!

Ah, yes, a lil bit o'daily fabulousness guide:

Instead of a boring pony,
Pick out a rockin' cute hat to cover up the greasy mess of hair.

Rather than your standard jeans and cute top,
Grab the first dress you see
(as long as your stems don't resemble a fine lookin' cactus, if so, easy peasy as Plan B - add tights!).

Flats? Rubber Shoes? Flip flops? Pshaw!
Whatever heels you can manage to hobble around in will do just fine.
My current faves are my Sam Edelman Kellan, in case ya didn't notice ;)

No need to do up your face just add,
Some fine lookin' shades - giant, oversized, and mega dark please!
And to t-t-t-top it all off, add some ROUGE lipstick to your sweet puckers.

Now I'm not saying you have to do all of this at once, but adding one or two elements will make you feel less drab and more fab - I promise!
And there you have it ladies (and maybe even some gents?!) - the easy essential go-to FABU guide when you just don't wanna.
And believe me, there are plenty of days when I just don't wanna.

TestTube, Baby!

Just got my first New Beauty Test Tube package, and although the products were fantastic, the New Beauty magazine was extremely disappointing.

I first noticed New Beauty on the magazine racks in May at the airport as I was coming back from my lil vacay in Hawai'i. With a clean bold cover, this magazine stated that it was brand new and different from anything else with an insane price tag of $10. Ummmmm, yeah.
But I was intrigued. Ten dollars! Well, it must be fan-freakin-tastic!
And so, when it came with my Test Tube buy, I immediately opened it up to devour each and every page only to find out it's all about:

1) the latest greatest cosmetic surgeries.
2) youth!  I mean, like, above and beyond obsessed.
3) how to beautify yourself, as defined by Hollywood.

Come on NewBeauty folks! This is the exact same bullshit that all the other magazines feed us.
You're not new. You're not innovative. You're not different. And you sure as hell aren't worth $10 a month.

But enough of my bitching, here's the good stuff it came with:

New Beauty magazine $9.95
Loreal Elnet Hair Spray 11oz full size val $14.99
Mally Evercolor Starlight eyeliner in midnight - full size val $15
YBF Posing Plum lip liner full size val $8
Lash Food eyelash conditioner 1.5ml - val $22.50 (full size 8ml is $120)
Orlane super moisturizing light cream 11 ml - val 36.30 (full size is 50 ml for $165 @ bloomingdales)
Befine exfoliating cleanser 1.5 oz - val $9.38 (full size is 4oz for $25)
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner .25 oz - val $11.50 (full size is 1oz for $45)
Sparitual hand serum .25oz - val $3.75 (full size is 4oz for $60)
Macadamia oil hair mask - 1oz - val 3.53 (full size is 8.5oz for $30)
Macadamia oil healing hair oil - 1oz - val $9.28 ( full size is 4oz for $39)

I'm Totally Sheerious, Guys.

I've always been a little afraid of wearing sheer for fear of looking like a total slutface
Well, my sweet, non-slutface pals, I just realized that ya just gotta learn how to be strategically sheer!
Think of it this way, it's kinda like the trend of wearing cut out dresses - you only want to expose a little bit of flesh at a time so you don't look like... well you know what.

This blush pink top is sheer all over except for the chesticle area - phew! I love how it's very loose and tentlike - perfect for scarfing down salad, bruschette, carbonara, tiramisu and a lemon bar. *burp*
My fabulous VERY sheer skirt needed a friend to take care of hidin me ladybits - and so black tube top came along parading as a very fitted slip. SCORE! (I'd like to thank the hot Free People ladies for that genius idea.) Extra points for le slut skirt for having an elastic waist - a definite plus for all dining occasions.

And with that, off I went to drink, eat and pray catch up with my lovely college lady friends, all of whom, have very nice bewbies.

Ahhhhhhhh
CHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

But I Love Red Lipstick!

Okay, so I think that I look fantastic in red lipstick. More importantly, I feel confident!
However (did I just write however?! Ugh, sorry.), there are some haters, who have been verbally pointing out how much they are NOT fans of my look recently. Sad face.

What do you lovely ladies thinketh?

Mixmatched.

Ever since I got my custom chucks I've been wanting to find different ways to wear 'em. But honestly, I keep forgetting because they're always tucked away in some random place in the car, in an overnight bag, behind my laundry basket, or deep in my closet. #)@*@#!
So fiiiiiiinally, I found them and decided today was going to be the day that they're going to throw it back to you. By now you should've somehow realized what you outta do. I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do, about you nooooowwww...

Okay, enough of my awesomest singing voice in the whole world and onto my white and red polka-dot, zebra tongued fabulous shoes!

Mixmatched said fabu shoes with a houndstooth short sleeve peacoat, short lil black dress with a peekaboo lace detail, and highlighted all that with a hot pink tank underneath.

Sometimes rule breaking can feel so good!

Peek-A-Boo!
Obviously I have a child...
or maybe I am a child. Hmmmm...
It's true, I have yet to matured past the age of 12.
