Princesses.

My daughter's Robot Rainbow Hawaiin Hula birthday party was yesterday, and she reminded me that it's more than okay to march to the beat of your own drum. That it's okay to dress up and be silly, have fun, and not take life seriously and to ask for the impossible and make it happen. And so today, I woke up in my own little dreamland, and felt like a princess, so I thought I should dress like one too.
Thanks for always inspiring me, Daisy.
Here comes the pink, the glitter and the tiara.

My daughter, Daisy, has quite the imagination. She requested a robot, rainbow, Hawaiin hula theme for her second birthday, I kid you not. My husband, Mikie, and I were up for the challenge and made it happen. A little glimpse into her fabulous lil kiddie soiree.
DJ Lance and Rainbow Hula Robot even made an appearance.

Drive By Shoot.

Taking disco, disco to the sunshine with my fun lil sequin sweater top - aw yeah!
A little daytime sparkle, never hurt anyone!
In fact, it adds a lot of smiles... smiles that say uh, where's the dance floor cray cray?

Well shoot, if they be thinkin that already, I'm gonna add some vavavoom red lips, layer on some lace, a fun little teal skirt and hot red little stilettos and BAM! My theory is if you keep adding more crazy to the crazy, well then, it doesn't seem so crazy now, does it? So ta da!

Vote for Me.

I'm running for a political seat in my town, and today I was out and about campaigning...

Please, Vote for Me, Marie Applegate Prasad.

NOT.
Gawd, I'm such a dork!

But I will tell ya, I definitely felt like I was running for office in this get-up.

The outfit seemed to command more respect: I got such great service everywhere I went and people kept wanting to talk to me all day. It was so odd, interesting, and let's not forget FUN.
I felt - dum da dee dum - powerful!
So much so, that I just happened to get quite a bit of business today, which is fan-freakin-tastic because I'm a proud hardworking business owner - super score!

So, in conclusion, my Betty Booties, if you want something, dress like you mean it.

Whoa, I just re-read all that, and  the last sentence feels reminiscent of the speech that Cher from Clueless gave about partying with the Hatians. Ha!

Back To School.

I've been out of school for a few years now but I think I've been missing that feeling a tiddly bitty-o this fall. The smell of freshman blood, the crispness of untouched notebooks, the computer-strained eyes, the need to purchase new clothes...
Ah yes, those were the days!

To commemorate this feeling, I found myself pulling out a short pleated skirt, a thin long sleeve sweater and of course a nice little blazer to complete the Catholic School Girl look. I pranced around in this attire with my daughter and husband at Pier 39 in San Francisco, as all the kiddies were back hitting the books.
Ha!
I guess it DOES pay to be an adult sometimes.

I'm Totally Sheerious, Guys.

I've always been a little afraid of wearing sheer for fear of looking like a total slutface
Well, my sweet, non-slutface pals, I just realized that ya just gotta learn how to be strategically sheer!
Think of it this way, it's kinda like the trend of wearing cut out dresses - you only want to expose a little bit of flesh at a time so you don't look like... well you know what.

This blush pink top is sheer all over except for the chesticle area - phew! I love how it's very loose and tentlike - perfect for scarfing down salad, bruschette, carbonara, tiramisu and a lemon bar. *burp*
My fabulous VERY sheer skirt needed a friend to take care of hidin me ladybits - and so black tube top came along parading as a very fitted slip. SCORE! (I'd like to thank the hot Free People ladies for that genius idea.) Extra points for le slut skirt for having an elastic waist - a definite plus for all dining occasions.

And with that, off I went to drink, eat and pray catch up with my lovely college lady friends, all of whom, have very nice bewbies.

Ahhhhhhhh
CHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
