I'm Country Y'all.

I know I normally post at the very end of the day, but today, we had time to take pics first thing this morning. Hurrah - I look fresh and awake for once! So enjoy this early am posting... :)

Dress with a poofy skirt, plaid shirt, boots and a bouffant - ya really can't get more country than that, now, can ya? I wanted to add a lil something different to this dress instead of wearing my hot pink cardigan for a third time this week. And that's how I figured out the fun pairing of the plaid button down shirt as a lightweight coverup with the dress. And voila, a country star was born (country star - ha!).

This lil outfit will be taking me from work, to an art & wine street festival, to a salon opening to a girls night out. Phew - that's quite an agenda! *wipes sweat off brow* Let's hope it does the job!

Scouts Honor.

I never made it past being a Brownie in the Girl Scouts but I do remember admiring the older Girl Scouts in their mature blue and green uniforms while I was stuck wearing poo brown :(. 

OoooOOOooo how I longed to be older when I was but a simple (well, maybe not simple) happy lil bugger. What's that saying now? Ah yes, youth is wasted on the youth. As I reflect back on my early days in life, I must concur. Man, it feels like only yesterday I remember my mother telling me, Don't grow up too fast! Of course I did the complete opposite. But now, as a mom of an almost two year old lil munchkin, I am supremely aware of the true urgency in those words that were once said to me, and well, repeated to me over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. So here I am, years later, trying my best to not grow up too fast.

When Summer Meets Fall.

What's so great (and crazy!) about living in the San Francisco Bay Area is that in one area, 

where I live, in Concord, CA, it's a solid 80+ degrees during the day,

and in South San Francisco, it's 55 degrees at the exact same moment.

30 degree difference in 30 minutes.

I kid you not. 

So really, you never put any of your fall/winter attire away because it's always cold somewhere!

Today I ventured out to South San Francisco because one of my best friends, Jen, is visiting from the Philippines. I had to carefully pick out something that could handle the extreme temperatures.

I'm so ready to hit the beaches, biyatches!

With my Long Island vacation round the corner, I was inspired by the colors of the vast ocean that I'll soon be viewing, swimming, and frolicking in.  A little royal blue, tid bit o' sea green, and a dash of turquoise complete this I wish I were on vacation attire. 

Extra points for my mother pearl bracelet - oh yeah! 

Don't you love that I so freely give myself extra points?!
