Dancing with the Sun.

The Sun was insistent on stealing the spotlight this afternoon - the bastard! And so, instead of trying to outshine it - cuz who in the world could outshine the Sun - I decided to make the best of it and enjoy the situation by dancing with the Sun! We had such a blast groovin to the beats of the heats, yo.

Nds, nds, nds, nds...

Oh. My. Gawd. Becky. I look like a total prostitute.

So my local bestie, Brigid Hughes, and I went to Rue Mag's, one year anniversary party at
HD Buttercup in San Francisco's SoMa.
There was champagne (yes!), bumpin music (nds, nds, nds, nds), live typewritten poetry, food trucks (hell yeah!), and of course, stylin ladies and dudes in every direction.
Twas a good ole time for some people watching, food grubbin, bubbly drinkin, friend bondin fun.
Here are a few snippets from this eve's festivities:

White Vintage Dress + Nude Wedges

My mom wore this dress 30 years ago and now it's aaaall mine! Thanks Mom :)

This awesome adjustable vintage dress  has a crisscross drawstring back, allowing you to customize the size (perfect for buffets!), flutter sleeves, and unique neck lace. No, not necklace, but neck lace. Check it out - it's two separate pieces attached to the dress on either side and they meet together in the middle via button. Cool, no? I love it!

Now I know not everyone's gonna love the look. I even had someone say to me today that I look like I belong on the set of Big Love. (Ahem, Mr. Fee) But no matter, it's how it makes me feel and that's what counts, and  I feel like a true lady in this.

The Housewife Apron.

Recently, my friend Bernadette (thank you so much Berna!) invited me to join her Etsy Circle of Friends. Amongst her faves she listed Boojiboo, a store featuring vintage inspired aprons. I've been looking for a couple years now and thank goodness, this is clearly THE store to go to. I swear every single apron is cuteness to the max! You really can't go wrong with any one of them.

As a fun little game, I decided to ask my amazing musician husband, Mikie Lee Prasad, to pick out an apron he'd think I'd like and buy it for me as a surprise. Okay, so maybe it isn't that much of a surprise when I ask him for a surprise, but hey, at least the print / style he choose wowed me! ;)

This past week the package arrived at our home before he was back from work and YAY! I loved what he picked out. A black and white polka dot delight with pink trimmings.

From the patterns of cloth, to the cut and finish, I feel like an half Asian Betty Draper whenever I put this over any outfit. Some of you girls will probably hate me for saying this, but I don't care - these adorable aprons make me wanna cook, clean and look hot for said hubby. Bring on the dishes! Bring on the laundry! Bring on the dirty toilets! Okay so maaaaaaaybeeee I'm exaggerating for effect. Obviously that was said in state of overjoyed excitement. How's about bring on the dinner party? Ah, yes, that's much better. That's what I really meant to say. ;)
