Hippy dippy flower power always comes and goes.
Today, I sport this ensemble because I feel the extreme need to constantly trip over extra long floor length skirts. That and I need a big dose of colorful flowers to keep my mood and energy high to power through working on my company's creative brief and this evenings festivities.

Do your clothes help set your mood? Give you energy? Make you happy?

I've been meaning to pick up some sparkly jeans when lo and behold (I was raised Catholic, can you tell?) my mom picked me up a pair of silver Joe's Jeans.
Score for me mamasan!
I immediately funked them up with my converse and neon green necklace this time, but perhaps the next go around I'll glam them up.

How do you think I should glam up the silver jeans?

Having your own business means you can dress however you want.
Such a sigh of relief!
I remember working 8-5 jobs and I hated having to comply with the dress code. I felt like such a fraud, a shell of myself, whenever I put on clothes to appeal to the man.
Glad those days are gone so I can strut in whatever I desire.
Apparently I desire advice from crazy bag ladies.
They're one of my biggest inspirations.
No, seriously, they are
They make use of what they have, dress how they want, and don't care about what other people really think. So refreshing!

What crazies inspire you?

Funifying (new word alert!) an LBD is as easy as homemade glitter booties.

Oh yeah, that's right kids. You heard right. I sparklified the poop out of these H&M ankle boots.
These are on fiya homies!
Even my hubby, who never ever cares about what's on my tootsies, crowned them my hot shoes.

If y'all are interested, I'll be posting a DIY glitter shoes.

Have you glitterfied anything in your closet?

Self Portraits.

A couple of weeks ago, I was waiting for my friend at her apartment when I noticed the pretty main door. I started talking photographs using different settings on my Lumix, when I realized that my reflection became part of the pictures. And so here, I ended up with a bunch of moody self-portraits.

Have you every worked on a project and had creative accidents that made your original idea better?

Princesses.

My daughter's Robot Rainbow Hawaiin Hula birthday party was yesterday, and she reminded me that it's more than okay to march to the beat of your own drum. That it's okay to dress up and be silly, have fun, and not take life seriously and to ask for the impossible and make it happen. And so today, I woke up in my own little dreamland, and felt like a princess, so I thought I should dress like one too.
Thanks for always inspiring me, Daisy.
Here comes the pink, the glitter and the tiara.

My daughter, Daisy, has quite the imagination. She requested a robot, rainbow, Hawaiin hula theme for her second birthday, I kid you not. My husband, Mikie, and I were up for the challenge and made it happen. A little glimpse into her fabulous lil kiddie soiree.
DJ Lance and Rainbow Hula Robot even made an appearance.

One... Two... Three

At this point, adrenaline is not just running through my veins, it has fully replaced my blood. I've been working like a mad woman on actualizing a passion project these past few weeks so I thought I would take a nice vacation. Ahhhhh... wouldn't that be fantastic if I had time for that? In the meantime, I've decided to try an emulate relaxation mode by sporting this dress I picked up in Bali. A nice breezy light cotton dress makes for a good pretend mental vacay.

PS - I'm all island out - my bracelet is from Boracay, Philippines.
Oh yeah, it's a true vacay outfit now, homies.

Date night with the hubby - sexy time, oh yeah! Ew, TMI, Marie. TMI.  For a split second I wanted to get all dolled up and go to the gorgeous Meritage at the Claremont in Oakland. A couple of hours beforehand, I realized I wasn't in the mood to play dress up. All I wanted to do was be with Mikie and talk, laugh and just hang at a casual romantic restaurant. And that's exactly what we did, my friends. It had been too long since we had a solid block of time, and so we exchanged stories, food and kisses.
I love that man so much.
Romance is alive and kickin.

Event hopping calls for layers.
This is where all my Man Repeller stalking comes in handy - Leandra is a layerin whiz! Of course, my layering skills are much more conservative and tamer that hers, at least this time around.
Walking around in the cold going from place to place, I started soff fully loaded (uh, not that kind of loaded - that comes later in the evening ;) ). Layers are all ON. I always view my outfit in its layered stages since once  I'm at the events, and consume a couple glasses of Proseco, I slowly peel off each layer. Cue stripper music. Not!

Jacket not pictured. D'oh.
Ya know my long kimono hot pink vintage jacket? Imagine that over le outfit.
Now, good job using your imagination, kiddies :)
