Manual Labor.

So we're setting up for our Lil Palooza annual live music fest in our backyard. There'll be about five bands playing with some special guests - maybe I'll even belt out a tune if I've had enough spritzers in me  ;) We're also super stoked about having our very own food truck, Naked Chorizo, (thank you to my good friend Zenia for hooking it up!) at the party this year! Woo hoo! Stay tuned for pictures later this weekend!

Anyhoo, whenever I know I'm going to literally be working my arse off (manual labor - can you believe?!), I tend to wear all black so I don't show the world the real sweat monster that lies beneath the red lips.

What do you lovelies wear when you know you're gonna be sweatin it all day?

A Tank Top?!

Wow, why're you so casual today?
What do you mean?
You're wearing a tank top!
What're you talking about, I wear tank tops all the time.
Oh never mind, I didn't see your shoes.
It's all about the shoes, man.

And that's what I've learned recently: no matter how casual an outfit, if you wear some kick ass shoes, suddenly your everyday blah attire (even a tank top!) is L... M... N... OK!

Dancing with the Sun.

The Sun was insistent on stealing the spotlight this afternoon - the bastard! And so, instead of trying to outshine it - cuz who in the world could outshine the Sun - I decided to make the best of it and enjoy the situation by dancing with the Sun! We had such a blast groovin to the beats of the heats, yo.

Nds, nds, nds, nds...

Check it out as we bust some moves:

LFW's Casual Angel.

This lil fashion angel from London Fashion Week is such a lovely sight! She's the reason why I wore what I did this very day. When inspiration hits me, it's not necessarily my goal to try and recreate a replica of the outfit that sparked the epiphany, but moreso, to try and embrace the moment of AHA!ness and make it work with my current mood, energy and clothes.

Here's my take:

Oh. My. Gawd. Becky. I look like a total prostitute.

So my local bestie, Brigid Hughes, and I went to Rue Mag's, one year anniversary party at
HD Buttercup in San Francisco's SoMa.
There was champagne (yes!), bumpin music (nds, nds, nds, nds), live typewritten poetry, food trucks (hell yeah!), and of course, stylin ladies and dudes in every direction.
Twas a good ole time for some people watching, food grubbin, bubbly drinkin, friend bondin fun.
Here are a few snippets from this eve's festivities:

Food carts - yummers!

I fell in love tonight.

The after party photoshoot.
Okay, not the REAL after party, but the bar that Brigid and I hung out at afterwards. :)

I'm Loving It.

Never, never, never, never gonna mix red and yellow, I recall once thinking.
I mean, seriously, yellow and red right next to each other reminds me of McDonalds.
Doesn't it remind everyone of McDonalds?
And well, normally, I don't purposely try to look like a clown but then one day, I said to myself, Who cares if I look like a clown? At least those clowns make the best breakfast ever!
So here I am clownin' around sportin a color combo I used to loathe.

Ladies and gents, never say never in fashion (and in life!) - I promise you, you will eat your words over and over and over again!
