Bold Mother Earth.

Today I felt connected with the earth in a most empowering way.

I went through a very difficult personal situation last weekend and wept for days, felt like there was no tomorrow, and was utterly completely devastated. The world was muffled in both the visual and audio sense.  It was hard to see any light at the end of the long dark tunnel...

Until today.

Don't know what it is about this particular day, but all of a sudden things started getting better. A true smile found its way to my face. I felt the need to pay my respects to mother earth while grasping the bold happiness that I was finally able to feel again.
And so I let my outfit speak my truth on this fine day...

PS - The colors are totally muted on these pictures for some reason but appear bright and bold when viewed through iPhoto.  Anyone got a clue as to why?

My dance tribute to the gloriousness that is this day! :)

Floral & Stripes.

This striped dress is one of my go-to favorite summer dresses.
It generally covers enough because of its length, however, be warned it's highly boobylicious on top (not pictured here obviously), which can be fun for the right occasion.
But today I was feeling a little more modest, so I decided to add a playful contrasting floral pink top to cover up the goods, and knotted it to the side to giving the whole outfit a little more shape.

Moral of the Story: Knotted tops are the perfect cardigan substitutes for those breezy (or chilly!) summer days.
(or the I didn't have time to take care of the pits type of day)

Hot Pink Cardigan + Long Blue & White Striped Dress + Rope Sandals

Now that I'm on the path of habitually waxing da armfeets (that'd be pronounced armpit in the English homies),  I gather up all my willpower to not shave between appointments or else my waxing lady will yell at me in Portuguese (she's from Brazil!). And as sexy as it is to be yelled at in a foreign language, she's got full control of the ooozing hot wax that goes on my poor tortured but fuzz free bod.

So, what do you do when you've got a cute spaghetti strap dress you're dying to wear but da feets (short for armfeet) bears resemblance to the lush Amazionan jungle?

The Long Dress.

A long fitted dress may seem reserved but a lot of times it's more revealing and sexy than anything showing skin. This style is inspired by my recent viewing of the 90's movie, The Mask, starring Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz. Cameron Diaz blows us away when she first appears in the movie and a long fitted Vavavoom red dress. She continues to wear long fitted dresses throughout the movie, showing off her amazing body. This, of course, was before she got Hollywood skinny. I personally love her body at this point of her career.
